Weeks ahead of Google's next Pixel hardware event, Leaker Evan Blass has shared what appear to be marketing renders of the unannounced Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold in a post on his Substack.

The renders, if accurate, show that the new foldable will look fairly similar to last year's model - it has a tall outer screen instead of using a shorter style like the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the rumored foldable iPhone. The renders also show that the inner screen will retain the 8-inch size. The company has given its new wide foldable the "Z Fold 8" name, positioning the phone not as a widescreen oddity, but as the new normal, the default design for foldables going forward. A year after overhauling its Z Fold phone with a radically thinner design, Samsung has changed things up again, this time altering the shape entirely. The Z Fold 8 is wider than any of Samsung's previous foldables, and shorter too, a size and shape somewhere between Samsung's traditional Flip and Fold models.

In photos, I wasn't impressed by the squat shape. In person, to my surprise, it feels great, and almost immediately intuitive. If you want to get a feel for it yourself, grab your passport - the Z Fold 8 is about the same height and less than half an inch more narrow.

Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 8 feels more like a regular phone than ever. It's thinner, lighter, and has a front screen you can do just about anything on. Whether that's a good or bad thing, I'm not quite sure yet.

I spent three hours with Samsung's newest flip phone last week, and it doesn't look too different from last year's Z Flip 7. It's still got a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display on the inside. Samsung revealed its newest slate of foldables at this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked, which took place in London. In addition to a Galaxy Z Fold 8 that adopts a wider, passport-like form factor, Samsung showed off its new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with a crease you can barely see and a refreshed Z Flip 8, which has some new features for its cover screen.

We saw some new wearables as well, including the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 that comes with a larger battery and a thinner case, alongside a Galaxy Watch 9 equipped with an upgraded chip. Samsung and Google revealed two new designs for their AI smart glasses launching later this year, too.

Leaker Evan Blass shared images of Samsung's redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 just days before the July 22nd launch event where Samsung is expected to officially announce the phone.

The leaked images show a shorter, wider foldable matching earlier leaks of the Z Fold 8. They also reveal some of its specs, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, 50MP wide and 50MP ultra wide rear cameras, 10MP selfie cameras on the inside and outside screens, and an advertised battery life of "up to 26 hours of video playback."
