Did hell freeze over? Not quite: the driver belongs to Tiny Corp, not Nvidia, you’ll have to compile it with Docker rather than plug-and-play, and it’s designed for LLMs. But you no longer need to disable Apple’s System Integrity Protection (SIP), because Apple is letting that driver get signed, Tiny says.

The Wall Street Journal got to see a bunch of prototypes of Apple products and talk with CEO Tim Cook about them. The prototypes are so dang cool. I wish I could go see them for myself!

The company has given the all-aluminum NES 40th edition of its Retro 68 Keyboard an Apple II-inspired makeover. The new AP50th Limited Edition features a shell, keycaps, and buttons all made from aluminum alloy, and for $499.99 it will ship in June 2026 with a pair of matching wireless programmable buttons.

Apple TV’s next big series kicks off at the end of the month, and Widow’s Bay follows a small island town with a, let’s say, checkered past. The show mixes up horror and comedy, and it’s part of a big line-up coming to the streamer this year.

Apple Ireland, which handles the company’s non-US business, was recently fined for violating sanctions against business dealings with Russia. In response, the subsidiary has shut down payment processing in Russia, cutting customers off from Apple Music, iCloud, and even making it impossible for them to buy new apps.

Jay Blahnik, the creator behind the three-ring fitness tracking feature on Apple Watches, is stepping down after a 13-year tenure at the company, following allegations that he sexually harassed an employee and fostered a “toxic work environment.” A lawsuit claiming Blahnik bullied an employee is set to go to trial next year.

The Financial Times reports that Amazon is in talks with Globalstar about an acquisition to help boost its low Earth orbit satellite business, but Apple’s 20 percent stake in Globalstar is forcing negotiations between the three companies.

The update adds protections against DarkSword, a security vulnerability that can steal information from your phone if you visit an infected link. Apple previously released iOS 18.7.7 to the iPhone XS and XR, but if you have a newer phone and don’t want to download iOS 26, now you can install the patch without worrying about getting Liquid Glass.

For Apple’s 50th anniversary, Cook did an interview with Esquire’s Ryan D’Agostino, who heroically attempts to get Cook to say anything of consequence and gets basically nowhere. Except for this, about Cook’s interaction with the Trump administration:

iOS 26 devices are already protected against the hacking tool that targets iPhones when visiting malicious links, and today Apple is pushing out a new security update for older, vulnerable versions of iOS. That means iOS 18 users can protect their phones and avoid the Liquid Glass design update.

Apple is currently testing the feature, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. I hope it makes the cut; I think I’d use it way more than any of Siri’s long-delayed features we’re still waiting on.

Apple TV has a big lineup of new series this year, and one of the more notable is Cape Fear, inspired by Martin Scorsese’s ‘90s film of the same name (which was itself a remake). If nothing else, the cast looks great, and you can check out the first teaser below.

Aptoide’s AppArena is now available in Japan as an Apple Store alternative. It comes after regulators required Apple and Google to support third-party app marketplaces and payment systems. AppArena features AI-assisted discovery of apps and games, cashback rewards, and 15-minute game trials.

Apple started testing the feature with its iOS 26.4 betas, but at the time, the company said the feature would actually arrive in a “future update.” Encrypted RCS messages are back with the first iOS 26.5 developer beta, 9to5Mac reports, so perhaps they will launch publicly on iOS soon.

After users in China reported seeing Apple Intelligence on their iPhones, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said these AI-powered features launched in “error” and that Apple has since taken them offline. The Chinese government currently requires Apple to partner with local companies, like Alibaba, to power AI features in the country.

The little character inspired by the Finder logo has been briefly featured as part of Apple’s marketing for the MacBook Neo, but on Monday, the company uploaded three new videos to its TikTok account starring the mascot. I love it.

The native app is currently in beta for iOS users, according to WABetaInfo. It lets users access their recent chat list, view contact details, manage calls, and send messages from their car’s infotainment display. Meta’s devs are on a roll having recently brought WhatsApp to both Apple and Garmin watches.
