Following previous rumors that Nokia is preparing a Windows Phone 8 device unveiling in early September, HTC is now believed to be doing the same next month. Chinese site WPDang is reporting that HTC will unveil its new Windows Phone 8 devices at an event in the third week of September. Although Microsoft is expected to finalize its Windows Phone 8 software in September, with devices available in November, the rumored September events could indicate that devices may arrive earlier than expected.

HTC is rumored to be preparing its Windows Phone 8 devices for a launch in the third week of September.

HTC is preparing three Windows Phone 8 models, which we detailed back in June, with a “Zenith” device to be the main flagship handset. Zenith is expected to feature a 4.7-inch Super LDC 2 display with an 8-megapixel camera and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. If the reports of Nokia and HTC’s September Windows Phone 8 unveilings are accurate, then this may reflect Microsoft’s desire to unveil its next-generation devices before a rumored Apple event on September 12th. Whether or not any Windows Phone 8 devices arrive before a next-generation iPhone remains to be seen, but an early launch alongside Windows 8 could help Windows Phone 8’s prospects.
